#7 Europe and the Middle East

Developing the means to engage in dialogue

22 May – 00 November 00

The Encounters under this theme will examine Europe’s relationships with the Middle East, its Diasporas and its cultural wealth. The Encounters will draw on material which will assembled by DCCD from its own workshop (planned for 2006) dealing with the mutual images and prejudices between Europe and Muslim Middle Eastern countries as well as between Europeans and their fellow citizen within the Muslim/Middle Eastern Diaspora. The Encounters will look at the daily lives and cultural experiences of different Muslim communities in Europe and at examples of cultural and multicultural projects which are successfully overcoming barriers and developing the means to engage in dialogue.

This encounter is hosted by: DCCD
